Mining the deep catalog of southern gospel legends Bill and Gloria Gaither, Whitmire imbues classics such as “He Touched Me” and “I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary” with a gentle grace befitting their holy subject matter. The rolling, emotional tenor of his playing will also appeal to fans of George Winston’s nature-themed records or the mellower compositions of Liz Story.
